The flurry of posts featuring items from Chanel's Summer 2011 Collection Les Fleurs D'ete De Chanel left me heart sick inside because the one item I did not originally pick up was the Le Vernis Nail Colour in Morning Rose. I'll admit I'm one guilty of falling for hype and so I naturally snatched up Mimosa as quickly as possible, and for me that has quickly become one of my favorites. However, with all the love being cast for Morning Rose, I also placed an impulsive order on Chanel's website, as it was out of stock at all my local counters, figuring $7.95 in shipping costs was a small price to pay to mend my yearning heart! I placed my order on a Monday night, and luckily it was in my hands by Thursday afternoon!
Morning Rose, as all of you probably have seen by now is a delicate, warm rosy pink with golden microshimmers. This particular formula is the ultimate in quality. I was able to apply the polish evenly in one coat, and easily achieve opaque color in two. The color is truly a universal one, as previous swatches I have seen on lighter skin tones look beautiful and yet it still wonderfully complements my darker skin.
During the week when the bright and vivid yellow of Mimosa is a little loud for those bearing speculums, I'll be sporting Morning Rose. It is the perfect fool proof pink, ideal for those who are challenged in the art of self manicures, and worth every penny. Available at chanel.com $25.00

This looks lovely on you, I really like these sort of pinks. I was very tempted to get this polish rather then Mimosa.
ReplyDeleteYou have amazing nails! I bought both Morning Rose and Mimosa as I knew I would regret it if I left one of them behind... lol. I kind of want to paint my nails on one hand yellow and the other pink as they go so beautifully together :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great on you! I'm glad you were able to buy this while it was still available - yay!
ReplyDeleteROFL on the speculum comment. Yes, the yellow would clash terribly with the stainless. ;D I agree this is a great pink, not too prissy.
ReplyDeleteMeeta- Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm glad you like this!
ReplyDeletePandora- You give me a great idea to do my toes with mimosa and my nails with morning rose!
HDTM- Thanks! I know you didnt have much luck with it but I thought it looked nice on you!
ZuZu-hehe
oooh... such beautiful pink. I love such pink nails :)
ReplyDeleteI love this colour so much!
ReplyDeleteMumbaimakeupdiary- I'm glad you like it! I thought it would be nice to see on darker skin.
ReplyDeleteTracy- Me too! I'm pleasantly surprised how much I love this color!
It's refreshing to see that color on a richer skintone- I love that on you!
ReplyDeleteThat's really pretty. I'm not typically one to wear pink on my fingers, but this has me tempted :P xxx
ReplyDeleteMM- Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteRachel- Thanks for your comment!
I usually wear brighter colors, but this one is a very pretty, soft pink.
ReplyDeleteActually I wouldn't recommend putting Mimosa on the toes! I tried it and it looked like I had some sort of nail disease lol.... not sure yellow toes are a good look, unless perhaps you are very tanned or naturally have a darker skintone. I'm very pale olive and it looked hideous. Still, it may work for you, you can always swipe it off it doesn't :)
ReplyDeleteAlexutza- you should give this one a try! It is a nice neutral look without being boring!
ReplyDeletePandora- I think you have an excellant point! Although I do have darker skin so maybe I will try it out!
Love this shade, so pretty.

Sadie- Glad you like it! I have been wearing it non stop since I got it!
