Red For The Holidays! My Favorite Lip Products This Season!

What I love about December and the holiday season is the glamourous, yet festive feeling of wearing a red lip! I used to shy away from bold lip colors but now love this sexy, sultry look!  I found my confidence in a red lip came from finally finding reds that suit my skin tone! I love to pair this lip with some gold shadow with a bit of sparkle when I'm heading to a holiday party! Here are some of my favorites:

Le Metier de Beaute L'Empress Lip Kaleidoscope in Silk Road, Le Metier de Beaute Ready to Wear Kaleidoscope by Oscar de la Renta in Red Chiffon, and Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme in In The Know Bordeaux are all deep, true reds (and extremely similar, but gorgeous nonetheless!)  The Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella is a warm, matte red.  This pencil is perfect for layering underneath other lipsticks or glosses to help keep the color on all night! For more wine toned reds, I like the Nars Lipstick in Afghan Red and the Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color in Black Orchid.  Finally for a gold sparkle on top of any lip color I use the Nars Lip Gloss in Moon Fleet.

November Favorites! Dolce and Gabbana and Tom Ford

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts as of late! I just haven't been feeling inspired by the holiday collections and have found myself in a bit of a makeup rut! Most of the products I have purchased lately are repurchases of old favorites and various items from permanent collections.  Anyway, enough of the excuses! I am going to try to feature some interesting new posts that might deviate slightly from traditional product reviews.  I want to get excited again about blogging!


November was a major makeup rut for me.  I wore the same look every single day!  Part of the reason was because I truly developed an obsession with my Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Cognac Sable.  I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but I think I may hit pan on the gold color soon unless an intervention takes place!  I have already talked loads about this quad, but I seriously am in love with the colors in it.  It is the perfect combination to create natural everyday looks, glittery nighttime looks or smokey looks.  Not since the Giorgio Armani Heat Palette have I been so enamoured with a makeup item.  


Another favorite for November was the Tom Ford Cheek Color in Savage, a rusty red shade. I have talked a great deal about this product as well, and the color suits me perfectly.  I used this blush every single day in November!  


I have been experimenting more with Dolce and Gabbana cosmetics as of late, and really enjoying the line.  The Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation has been my go to foundation all November!  I love the full coverage it provides in a natural light weight finish.  


Also from Dolce and Gabbana in my favorites was the Lip Gloss in Tender, a pretty sparkly pink with gold shimmer.  Perfect for nights out.  I have also been loving the new Passion Duo Lipstick in Rose.  This is the perfect creamy rose shade that feels nourishing on the lips but also provides enough color to my lips.
